Tarangire & Manyara Safari Extension

Day 1: Arrive and Relax at the Lodge

Return from your Kilimanjaro trek and overnight in Arusha. Enjoy the comfort of a lodge with a hot shower and comfy bed. You will have dinner at the lodge and a restful evening before your safari begins the following day.

Day 2: Mto wa Mbu

You will leave the lodge after breakfast and head towards Mto wa Mbu (2h30) – a small town located at the bottom of the Rift Valley escarpment. Visit this bustling area on foot and enjoy a local lunch. In the early afternoon, reach your lodge located on the shore of the lake and relax for a while. Before sunset, visit a traditional Maasai boma and learn about the legendary tribe.

Day 3: Onwards to Karatu

An exceptional day awaits you – plunge into the African Garden of Eden, home of the black rhino. In the afternoon, drive to Karatu and unwind at your lodge located on a coffee plantation.

Day 4: Tarangire

After breakfast, you head towards Tarangire (2h30) for 2 days safari. Once you reach the park gate, you enter one of the most typical Tanzanian parks, famous for its large population of elephants and its diverse landscapes scattered with baobab trees. You will have plenty of time to drive along the Tarangire River and around the Silale Swamp during your stay there. On your first day, you will go on a night game drive in the vicinity of the lodge.

Day 5: Tarangire Pt. 2

Early morning, start the day with a bushwalk in the lodge surroundings. Continue your adventure with a full day game drive in Tarangire NP.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, this is sadly your last day in the African bush. You return to Arusha midday (3h30) and are transferred to JRO for your departure flight.
