Cycling for a Better Future
Kara Tunga’s Tour of Karamoja is aiming to provide 20 vulnerable girls from various communities along the bike trail with the opportunity of receiving life-changing education at the nearby Matany Girls’ Vocational School.
The school offers a vocational education - empowering the girls, giving them support and courage as well as the practical and life skills needed to succeed in the ever-competitive job market.
Decades of marginalisation and the upheld beliefs that these girls should be forced into early marriages or labour are depriving them of their future. This initiative aims to change that.
Donating $500 fully sponsors one girl for a six-month vocational course at the school, this includes a valuable internship and nationally recognised certification.
